Subspecialist Study Program

Internal Medicine

The Subspecialty Education Program in the Department of Internal Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Padjadjaran,

has been ongoing since 2009 and has produced graduates recognized by the Indonesian College of Internal Medicine. The program was established by the decision of the College of Internal Medicine letter no. 61/KIPD/SK/XI/2010. The curriculum implementation of this program is evaluated every two and four years through the internal quality assurance system and by the College of Internal Medicine, respectively.

It's realization is based on the decision of the Dean/Chairman Senate of the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Padjadjaran, through letter no. 456c/H6.7.FK/KEP/2008, regarding “PEMBENTUKAN PROGRAM STUDI DOKTER SPESIALIS KONSULTAN DI FAKULTAS KEDOKTERAN UNIVERSITAS PADJADJARAN”. On October 24th, 2019, through the SENATE decision letter no. 42/un6c4/TU/2019, the proposal of establishing the Internal Medicine Subspecialty Program was approved. The Chairman of the Senate provided formal recommendations in commencing the program on November 28th, 2019, through decision letter no. 1429/UNS.SA/TU/2019. On November 21st, 2019, The College of Internal Medicine provided recommendations for establishing a university-based Subspecialty program with the decree no: Kolegium 1080/PAPDI/SR/XI/2019, along with formal permission from Universitas Padjadjaran with Rectorate decree no:1071/un6.RKT/Kep/HK/2019.

Study Program Vision

To produce graduates of the Internal Medicine Subspecialist physician who are excelling and able to compete nationally and internationally by 2026.

Study Program Mission

  • To promote education (teaching, research, and development of science and devotion to society) that meets the community standards for health services from Internal Medicine Subspecialist physicians.
  • To organize an Internal Medicine subspecialty education program that is internationally competitive and able to meet the community standards for health services from Internal Medicine Subspecialist physicians, for the benefit of intellectual development and the community welfare.
  • To promote professional and accountable management of the Internal Medicine subspecialty program.

Study Program Goals

The goals of the Internal Medicine Subspecialty Program are:

  • Producing graduates of Internal Medicine subspecialty physicians who are strong, caring, independent, competitive, effective, and efficient by upholding the benefit of society with humanism and moral attitudes with the timely study.
  • The realization of education through research in the field of the subspecialty of Internal Medicine with graduates mastering the basics of knowledge (scientific) and skills with holistic insights to formulate and solve health problems in the field of Internal Medicine Subspecialties.
  • Providing excellent health services in the field of Internal Medicine Subspecialties.
  • Producing graduates with capabilities to nurture both self-development and institutions, along with the capacity to develop the Internal Medicine subspecialty.
  • Producing graduates who can follow the development of science and technology in their fields of expertise.
  • Achieving the organization and management of the Internal Medicine Subspecialty program that is credible, transparent, accountable, and fair, in the form of independent and good governance, which is based on information technology, and becoming a reference program with high national competitiveness.
  • Establishing the cooperation of educational development, research, and community service in the education process and at the regional, national, and international levels to accelerate the achievement of vision and mission.

Accreditation

Based on the decision of LAM-PTKes stated:

Internal Medicine Subspecialist Study Program, Padjadjaran University, Bandung.

Accredited : 

Curricular Structure consists of organized educational subjects and scheduled learning and teaching processes. The Courses are arranged based on 4 (four) domains of learning achievements: (1) Attitude, (2) General Skills, (3) Knowledge, and (4) Specialized Skills. The academic and professional load run simultaneously in the Internal Medicine Subspecialty Education Program. The difference is in the study duration, which is a minimum of 4 semesters.

In the 1st semester, the academic load occupies 50% of all learning activities consisting of General Basic Subjects, Specialized Basic Subjects, and Teaching Methods. While in the 2nd - 6th semester, the academic load occupies 25% of the term, consisting of academic subjects and teaching experience. Professional load is given in the 25% allocation of time in the 1st semester and occupies 75% of the 2nd-6th semester term.
