Vision

The vision of Specialist Doctor-1 Ophthalmology FK Unpad is as follows:

Becoming a Specialist Doctor-1 Ophthalmology Study Program that is recognized as capable of producing competent and high-quality ophthalmologist graduates through a research-based education process for the benefit of the community and are able to compete at national and international levels.

Mission

The mission of Specialist Doctor-1 Ophthalmology FK Unpad Study Program consists of:

• Organizing an integrated quality and quantity improvement process for ophthalmologists and have a direct impact on efforts to improve eye health services.
• Developing eye health sciences through accountable research that aimed to benefit of community.
• Developing effective, efficient, and independent partnerships with various national and international institutions to increase welfare degrees.

Goals

The purpose of education in Specialist Doctor-1 Ophthalmology FK Unpad is to give each graduate the ability to:

• Identifying eye disorders and creating sustainable programs to help treating them
• Applying the latest evidence-based technology in overcoming eye health problems
• Developing knowledge in terms of 'long life learning' as an effort to continue self-development process
• Taking an active role on health leadership in the working environment

To achieve educational goals and produce a graduate profile as expected, medical doctor specialist in Ophthalmology is supported by 35 teaching staff who are competent in their fields. Each teaching staff has an educational background and expertise that has been recognized nationally and internationally.

Specialist Doctor-1 Ophthalmology FK UNPAD graduates have abilities that include the following areas of competence:

  Peserta didik mampu memberikan pelayanan kesehatan mata yang bertanggung jawab tepat, dan efektif dalam bentuk terapi dan upaya promotif masalah kesehatan.
• Pengetahuan Medis (medical knowledge)
  Peserta didik mampu meunjukkan pengetahuan tentang ilmu biomedis, klinis, dan ilmu lain yang sudah terbuktu maupun yang masih berkembang dan mengaplikasikan pengetahuan tersebut pada pelayanan kesehatan mata.
• Pembelajaran berbasis praktik dan pengembangannya (practice-based learning and improvement)
  Peserta didik mampu melakukan investigasi dan evaluasi pelayanan medik terhadap pasien, menilai, dan memadukan dengan bukti-bukti ilmiah, serta meningkatkan kemampuan memberikan pelayanan medik dalam praktik.
• Keterampilan komunikasi dan hubungan interpersonal (interpersonal and communication skill)

  Peserta didik mampu memperlihatkan kesadaran dan tanggung jawab terhadap permasalahan yang lebih luas dan sistem pelayanan kesehatan dan mampu secara efektif menggunakan sumber daya dalam sistem pelayanan kesehatan untuk menyediakan pelayanan yang optimal.

STUDY PROGRAM CURRICULUM STRUCTURE

Specialist Doctor-1 Ophthalmology Study Program curriculum consists of 94 (ninety-four) credits (SKS) taken for 8 (eight) semesters as follows:

Competence/learning achievement of Sp-1 Ophtahlmology Study Program in Indonesia adjusts to the formulation of ophthalmologist competency according to the KKNI. In addition, ophthalmologists also have specific authority in accordance with the standards of clinical competence of disease and clinical competence of surgical procedures set by the Indonesian Collegium of Ophthalmology (KIKMI). The competencies achieved include attitudes, knowledge, general skills and special skills as an ophthalmologist.

The learning stages to achieve expected competence are divided as follows :

Orientation Stage : 1st semester

Internship Stage : 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th semester

Independent Stage : 7th and 8th semester
