Forensic and legal medicine study programme was called Legal medicine.
The requirements to be the centre of legal medicine was fulfilled in January 1979 in Yogyakarta. Although the residency education of Forensic specialist in Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Padjadjaran has begun since 1979, the first resident started to study in 2005. In 2005, the permanent faculty staff was only 1 (one) staff with an addition of 3 (three) temporary staff, therefore, the first resident should carry out the finishing year in another Forensic Centre in another university, so as the next resident. Now, there are 7 (seven) permanent faculty staff with an addition of 8 (eight) non-permanent lecturer. dosen tidak tetap.
Forensic and Legal Medicine study programme, Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Padjadjaran have a belief that this study programme should accentuate its academic characteristic through achieving competency in systematic literature review and research activities, both research to increase the quality of the service so that it follows international standard on evidence-based forensic medicine practice and research in forensic science, such as Forensic DNA, forensic toxicology. Forensic study programme applies the policy in students’ involvement in research as very important in transmitting the academic characteristics, in order to produce veritas motto (fact-based). It is in accordance with the opinion of international forensic medicine expert Madea and Saukko (2007) that stated the emphasis of academic characteristics in this profession is very important as academic representatives in the middle of the setback of forensic medicine practice which consider the routine case solving practice important.

also values the importance of leadership in an organisation. There were important position trusted to the staff, such as Dean of Faculty of Medicine (2016-2018), Head of Indonesian Doctor Association Bandung Branch (2014-2017), member of Medical Ethics Honorary Council of Indonesian Doctor Association (2015-2018), Academic Section of Indonesian College of Forensic Medicine (2014- 2016), Head of Indonesian Forensic Doctors Association of West Java (2016-2019), Chief of Indonesian College of Forensic Medicine (2019-2022) and University Senate Secretary (2020-2025).
